Job Title: Swimming Pool Manager

Actual Annual Salary: £29,069 - £32,147 (Based on hours and working weeks)

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £35,852 - £39,694 (CLF Grade E).

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full-Time, 30 hours per week, working on a rota basis between Mon – Sun, all year-round

Provisional Start Date: January 2026

Step Into a key leadership role at the heart of our sports centre:

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised individual to lead the delivery of high-quality swimming provision at Tewkesbury Academy Sports Centre. This is a key role within our operations, offering the opportunity to shape and manage a dynamic programme of swimming lessons and community engagement activities. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring our facilities are safe, welcoming, and professionally run, while supporting a team of swimming teachers and working collaboratively across the Cabot Learning Federation.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, a passion for aquatic education, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in a busy, community-focused environment.

About you:

You will have:

  • Strong leadership and line management experience, including training and supervision of staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A recognised swimming teaching qualification (e.g. SEQ Level 2 or STA Level 2 Award), and ideally a Pool Plant Operator or RLSS NPLQ qualification.
  • A thorough understanding of health and safety compliance, including risk assessments, COSHH regulations, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Experience in managing swimming programmes, including lesson planning, staff training, and customer engagement.
  • High levels of organisation and initiative, with the ability to manage a varied workload and respond flexibly to operational needs.
  • A commitment to promoting equity, inclusion, and the wellbeing of children and young people through sport and leisure activities.
