Are you looking for an opportunity to make a real difference within Kingswood's community?

We are looking for a strong and confident relationship builder to be the new Family Hub Manager that will play a pivotal role in supporting the continued development and successful delivery of the Kingswood Family Hub (Martin’s House).

This is an innovative and community-focused initiative designed to provide a joined-up “cradle-to-career” pipeline of support for children, young people, and families.

If successful you will be supporting the Hub team in refining and embedding the vision for Martin’s House, ensuring it reflects the evolving needs and aspirations of the local community. Working collaboratively with a wide range of partners from the charity, education, health, and statutory sectors, the successful candidate will help coordinate and strengthen programmes aligned within the key objectives.

About you:

You will have:

• Understanding of community engagement principles, partnership working and co-production with residents and local stakeholders.

• A professional qualification in related field and/or equivalent experience (e.g. community development, education, youth work, social care of public administration).

• Full, clean driving licence with willingness to obtain business insurance or ability to travel to other sites.

• Proven experience of developing and coordinating community-based programmes or services, ideally within a multi-agency environment.

• Flexible and adaptable, able to respond positively to a developing and changing organisational environment.

• Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative while working as part of a collaborative team.

Applicants are advised to refer to the full requirements of the role in the attached job description and person specification, prior to submitting an application.

What is a Family Hub?

The government’s Family Hubs and Start for Life programme aims to “join up and enhance services delivered through transformed family hubs in local authority areas, ensuring all parents and carers can access the support they need when they need it”. As recommended in the government’s ‘The best start for life’ report, the focus of Family Hubs is on parents of 0-2 year-olds (or the first 1001 days, which includes pregnancy). However, Family Hubs are also intended to support families of children/young people up to age 19 (and 25 with special educational needs or a disability). Family Hubs are intended to be ‘one-stop shops’ for a range of face-to-face support and information. Services provided by a Family Hub could include support for home learning; parenting classes; midwifery; health visiting; infant feeding advice; or perinatal mental health support. Meanwhile Family Hubs are also intended to help families access other support services (not directly provided through the Hub), such as support for people’s physical and mental health; housing and debt advice; youth services; domestic abuse support; and other services run by charities

What services are based at Kingswood’s Family Hub?

Currently, we have partnerships with local services including Cabot Learning Federation, Kingswood Town Council, Sirona Care & Health, Creative Youth Network, OTR (Off the Record), Compass, South Gloucestershire Care Leavers, the local mental health support team and school nurses.
